Banfield Home

You know and trust Banfield Direct and we value your trust and respect your privacy. We want you to know how we collect, use and protect information about our online customers.

Information You Give Us.
Banfield has a closed order entry website. That means that you must be an authorized Banfield customer before you may use our website. The site uses pre-defined customer account data to determine your product set, product pricing, shipping addresses, payment preferences, order history and product history. Banfield requires every user of the system to have an individual user account that is joined to their customer account.

We will never request your password, user name, credit card information or other personal information through email. This practice, called "phishing", is a scam designed to steal your personal information. If you receive an email that looks like it is from us asking you for your personal information, do not respond.

How Does Banfield Use My Information?

• To administer promotions
• To help us learn about your shopping preferences
• To help us address problems and improve our site design, products and service
• To enhance your shopping experience

What Are “Cookies” and How Do We Use Them?
Our website uses cookies which are alphanumeric identifiers that we store on your computer when you visit our site. The “help” portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie or how to disable cookies altogether. However, cookies allow you to take full advantage of some of our website’s best features, so we recommend that you leave them turned on.

How We Protect the Security of Your Personal Information?
The security of your personal information is very important to us. In our efforts to protect your online transactions, we use a technology called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). If your browser is capable of SSL (and most are), your personal information will be automatically encrypted, or encoded, before it is sent over the internet.

Ultimately, your personal information is protected by the password you created. Please keep this password confidential. No Customer Service Associate or any other representative of Banfield will ever ask you for your password.

While we do follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it, no methods are 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

In any case we do reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our web site.

How Do I Change My User Or Account Information?
You can change certain personal information related to your use of our site (such as your name and password). To access your user information, simply sign into your account using your email address and password, and you will be able to edit your personal information via the link in the welcome panel.

All account related changes must be made by calling Banfield’s accounting department. Please refer to the “How do I contact you” section.

How Does Banfield Track My Usage?
As is true with most websites, we gather information about every visitor’s site use and automatically store this in log files. This information includes IP Addresses, browser type, internet service provider, referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and click stream data.

We use this information to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movements around the site, and track customer activity.

Does Banfield Pass My Account Information To Any Agents?
There are products we do not ship from our network of warehouses. These are typically called “Agency Orders”. We pass essential order information to these agents to fulfill your order. This information includes account, ship to and product information. These companies do not have any independent right to share this information.
